A seminar

by Rasterfield

I attended a seminar tonight. Today’s topic was “Effective communication to get you promoted.”

I was expecting that the speaker would tell us about a bunch of projects that they had won over their clients. However, it was practical advice about how we structure our speech in front of the client.

He gave us some time for an exercise time based of what he explained. I think there were no secrets about what he told us but it made us more aware of our communication with clients.

My understanding was breaking down what you need to do with the client from big to small things. You must understand the details of the client’s business. You are already a part of their business. Get attention of the audiences in the room. It would be good to make them laugh and get a smile from them to go your pitch to go smoothly. You need to get as much relevant information as possible, then organize, summarize them and tell effectively to the client without making them bored. So you have to find the right timing when and how you GET TO THE POINT.

It was worth attending this kind of seminar and seeing other people.
